The goals of the Association are to:
- Create a vibrant community for total rewards and related professional in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
- Provide meaningful networking, education and best practice sharing opportunities.
- Advance the professional practice of compensation, benefits and total rewards.
3. How is the GTA Rewards Association Governed?
The Association is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, a group of 10 GTA rewards professionals. Each Director has a one to two year term, as agreed with the Board. The names of Board and Leadership Team members can be found on the Association's website at (www.gtarewards.org) . Several key Association members include:
- Domenic D'Allesandro
VP Membership, GTA Rewards Association - David Tuck
VP Education, GTA Rewards Association - Girish Ganesan

- Julie Shayda who leads the Marketing & Communication Committee
The Association is also guided by an Advisory Board of eight seasoned GTA rewards professionals who help ensure the Association remains focused on delivering on its goals.
4. Do I have to be a Member of World at Work to join the GTA Rewards Association?
No. The Association is an independent not-for-profit organization separate from, but in partnership with, WorldatWork.
5. Why should I join the GTA Rewards Association if I am a member of WorldatWork?
The Association and WorldatWork are complementary organizations. The Association is focused on creating a vibrant rewards community in the GTA through locally sponsored events and services. WorldatWork focuses on the international advancement of the rewards profession, through its certification courses, research and publications, and first rate annual conferences.
6. How will Senior Rewards Professionals Benefit from Joining?
Several ways:
- Participation in seminars and networking events.
- Sending the people who may work for you to Association seminars and courses, to develop their skills, knowledge and network.
- Presenting at one of the GTA Rewards Association events, to share your knowledge with others and give back to the community.
- By working with others to advance the rewards profession in the GTA.
In addition, the Association's Advisory Board of senior rewards professionals will be looking at ways to target senior professionals with special events.
7. I belong to an Industry Group. What would be the benefit of joining the GTA Rewards Association?
Participation in industry groups can be a great way of exchanging ideas amongst peers at similar organizations. The Association expands this idea by facilitating the exchange of experiences across industries, and across organizational levels.
In addition, for those rewards professionals not currently part of an industry group, the Association offers access to the GTA rewards community and to senior rewards professionals (such as the Association's Advisory Board), who value the opportunity to broaden their connections and perspective beyond their industry.
